Combine multiple domains and all their first-level subdomains in a single certificate.
DV Multi-Domain
OV Multi-DomainA multi-domain Wildcard SSL certificate combines the features of multi-domain (SAN) and Wildcard certificates: both different domains and asterisk names (*.example.com, *.another-site.com) can be written into the same certificate. Multiple domains and all their subdomains are thus secured with one certificate.
With one certificate, one installation and one expiry date, it simplifies things for setups that manage many sites and subdomains. It is offered with domain validation (DV) and organization validation (OV); EV certificates are not available as Wildcard.
DATASSL offers 8 multi-domain Wildcard SSL products; annual prices start at $126.00. Below are the best-priced DV and OV options of each brand (per year, excl. VAT; additional domains and Wildcard names are priced separately).

Ordering works the same way as for a multi-domain certificate; the difference is that you can also add asterisk (Wildcard) names to the list.
The product page shows how many domains the certificate price includes; for additional domains and additional Wildcard names, you select the quantity when ordering.
You enter the domains and asterisk names (e.g. *.example.com) you want to secure at the order or activation step.
Each domain is validated separately. Asterisk names are validated by email or DNS record; the file method cannot be used.
You install the single issued certificate on the servers that host these names.

At DATASSL, multi-domain Wildcard SSL certificates start at $126.00 per year (excl. VAT). The lowest-priced DV option is GoGetSSL Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL ($126.00). OV options start at $314.58. An additional fee applies for names beyond those included in the certificate price.
Wildcard SSL secures the subdomains of a single domain. Multi-domain Wildcard combines multiple different domains and the subdomains of each in the same certificate.
The number of names included in the certificate price and the maximum number that can be added vary by product; these details are shown on the product page. You select the number you need when ordering.
Asterisk names are validated through an approval link sent to an administrative email address or through a record added to DNS. Under CA/Browser Forum rules, the file upload (HTTP) method cannot be used for Wildcard names.
Yes. With an OV multi-domain Wildcard certificate, your organization is validated as well as the domains, and the organization name appears in the certificate. The lowest-priced option is Sectigo UCC OV Wildcard SSL at $314.58 per year (excl. VAT).
No. CA/Browser Forum rules do not allow Wildcard in EV certificates. If EV is required, a multi-domain (SAN) EV certificate is used, in which the names are listed individually.
No. The name *.example.com covers only first-level subdomains. For addresses such as a.b.example.com, you also need to add the name *.b.example.com to the certificate.
