Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to add a server?
No. All modules work with a serverless architecture. The API URL and API Key are automatically embedded in the module files. You don't need to touch the "Servers" section in WHMCS or any extra settings in WordPress.
Where should I enter my API key?
You don't need to enter it anywhere. When you download the module from your DATASSL reseller panel, your API key is automatically embedded in the module files. The module uses this embedded key when it runs.
What should I do to update the module?
Download the new version from your DATASSL panel and upload it over the existing files. During an update, the WHMCS addon module automatically checks the database tables and email templates and adds any that are missing. Your data is preserved.
No products appear in the product dropdown. What should I do?
This usually indicates an API connection problem. Check:
  • cURL extension active? (php -m | grep curl)
  • Is the server firewall blocking outbound connections?
  • Is your reseller account active, and is a product group defined?
  • In WHMCS: in the Addon panel's Settings → Connection Test Run it
  • From the admin panel "Refresh Product List" click the button (clears the cache)
Can a customer place an order without entering a CSR?
Yes. If no CSR is entered during ordering, the service is activated in the "Awaiting Configuration" (awaiting_configuration) status. The customer can later complete the SSL configuration by entering the CSR from their own panel (Client Area).
How do I enable SAN (additional domain) support?
WHMCS: If you add products with the Product Builder in the Addon panel, Configurable Options are created automatically for SAN-enabled products. If you create them manually, add a Configurable Options Group and san_count and san_domains define the fields.

WordPress: SAN support comes built into the plugin. During checkout, the customer enters their additional domains.
Is my credit balance deducted automatically from orders?
Yes. For all orders created via the API, the amount is automatically deducted from your credit balance. If there is insufficient balance, the order is not created (an HTTP 402 error is returned). The modules show this to the customer as a meaningful error message.
Are Code Signing certificates supported?
Yes. Code Signing and EV Code Signing certificates are fully supported. These product types do not require domain validation (DCV) and the domain field is hidden. Only the CSR and contact details are required.

Troubleshooting
